Dear Parents,
Â
I am looking forward to getting to know your son/daughter. Below are some things that I want you to be aware of that will help this year run smoothly. It is important that you understand that I expect your child to be a responsible young person. I believe that if we keep in close contact with one another this can be achieved. Please feel free to call me at school (873-4721) or email me (susan.tracy@woodford.kyschools.us) anytime you feel it is necessary. However, this year I will be beginning the school year on maternity leave. Mrs. Lohr will be the face your child sees daily until my return on September 22. You will be able to reach both Mrs. Lohr and myself for the first five weeks with the above email address. If you have an email address that can be used to contact you, please fill that in at the bottom of the page. Another great tool this year will be my website which will be up and running upon my return to school. At that time you may check homework assignments daily!!! http://ilearn.woodfordschools.org/stracy The syllabus for the class is posted on the webpage. (If you do not have computer access please note that at the bottom of the page and I will send a copy of the syllabus home.)Â
Â
The Tiger Book is a necessary supply that we require all students to have. I make them write in them every day and then I initial to show that they have the correct assignment written down. Please check them at home. Each math student should have a 3-ring binder. The binder will house a spiral notebook for notes, a practice workbook, worksheets and homework. It should come back and forth between home and school daily. Textbooks will be assigned and STAY AT HOME for homework purposes. We have a class set of textbooks that will be used at school. One pack of pencils is requested for daily use in class. One pack of thin tip dry erase markers for writing on individual whiteboards is optional.
Â
In my room students will be given a warning for off task behaviors. The warning will be followed by a series of three demerits before further action is taken. Contact will be made with the parents whenever necessary. This policy does not include extreme behaviors that need immediate attention. After three tardies the student will be referred to the office for a detention assignment.Â
Â
In addition to being assigned a textbook, students will be assigned to a TI 73 graphing calculator for use in class. Students will be responsible for replacing or reimbursing the school for damage to these calculators. School calculators will not be allowed to leave the classroom.Â
Â
Please take a minute to sign below. I would appreciate any comments too! (Include any other info that might be helpful, such as medical conditions, etc.) I am looking forward to a great year with your kids and I am excited about the things that we will be doing. Always feel free to call me with any concerns that you may have.
