Our School

Woodford County High School strives to provide students opportunities to receive a quality education and to develop into successful adults. Under the direction of our faculty and staff, students' minds are stretched, their bodies strengthened, and their social and emotional skills are developed. Our primary goal is student academic achievement, but at Woodford County High School we also attempt to broaden the scope of what can be learned. Clubs, band, chorus, student government, and a wide variety of athletic activities provide many options for our students outside of the classroom. Students may also gain valuable work experience through our student newspaper and television studio, serving as tutors, or working cooperatively with community organizations. Students' achievements are recognized through daily announcements, honor roll postings, team banquets, television, and newspaper reports. Our guidance staff works diligently on behalf of our students by providing personal counseling, advising students on a course of study, and assisting them with career and college information. To ease the transition to high school, our freshmen are provided their own area of the building, faculty, and administration. Our Athletic Booster Club, Band Boosters, and the WCHS PTO provide the school with strong community support enhancing our school climate and effectiveness.
