Northside Elementary has captured the
Super Attendance Flag from Huntertown!
The Thoroughbreds' average daily attendance for the
month of January was 95.99%. 
They will proudly fly the flag over their school
through the month of February.
Congratulations to Mr. Asher, his students and his staff
for working hard to earn this award!

District-wide average daily attendance is listed in the table below.

Congratulations to the WCHS Academic Team for finishing 1st overall
in the 41st District Governor's Cup Competition.
The Brain Jackets had 1st place finishes in Quick Recall,
Future Problem Solving, Math Composition and Language Arts.
The team more than doubled the score of the 2nd place team
and advanced 14 of a possible 18 team members to regional competition.

Woodford County Schools will hold a
Coordinated School Health and Wellness Public Hearing
on Monday , February 8^th, 2010 at 5:30pm
in room 2 at the Community Education Center , 299 South Main Street.
Individuals with an interest in school health programs
or initiatives are invited to share ideas and information.

Early Release Day
Elementary school students will be released at 12:45,
middle and high school students at 1:10
and Safe Harbor students at 1:00.

Tuesday, February 16th
The Woodford County Board of Education will have a planning session.
They will meet in the Central Office Board Room at 6:00 p.m.

Kindergarten Pre-Registration

Monday, February 22nd
The Woodford County Board of Education will have its
regular monthly meeting.  The public is invited to attend
the meeting at 6:00 in the Central Office Board Room.

Woodford County Public Schools will hold
kindergarten pre-registration for the 2010-2011 school year on
Thursday, February 18th from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
and Friday, February 19th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Pre-registration will be available at each of our elementary schools.

Any child who is five years of age on or before October 1, 2010 is eligible to enroll in public school kindergarten.  Any child who attended a private kindergarten during the 2009-2010 school year is eligible to enroll in the primary program provided he/she is six years of age on or before October 1, 2010.

Please bring the documents listed below to begin the registration process:

1. Proof of Residence (utility bill, deed, lease or property tax bill)
2. Certified Birth Certificate (not hospital certificate)
3. Valid Kentucky Immunization Certificate (by 8/11/10)
4. Guardianship or custody papers (if applicable)
5. School Physical Examination Form (by 8/11/10, completed within one year prior to initial entry to school)
6. Vision Screening (by a licensed eye doctor)
7. Child's Social Security Card (optional)
