  • Welcome to Woodford County Schools

Our web site is designed for our students, families and staff. Located on the left is our "Main menu" with a "Frequently used links" list. On the right of each page is a calendar listing district events. As you visit various pages within our site, the calendar will reflect events for those pages. Calendar events can be downloaded to your computer calendar. In the coming months, we are going to allow parents and guests to create accounts (students and staff already have accounts) and subscribe to school web pages, discussions, and notification systems making our web page truly interactive. Until that time you are able to view our site as a guest. Please take your time to browse our site and orient yourself to our new format.

  • Dear Woodford County Families,

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year!  I am honored to be your superintendent and thank the Board of Education for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading the Woodford County Schools and serving this community.  The beginning of a school year is exciting because it provides new opportunities for students to learn, grow and flourish.  I can hardly wait for August 14th.  The smile on a child’s face as he or she enters school is priceless.

Our teachers, administrators and staff have been hard at work throughout the summer preparing for the new school year.  Our mission is to provide the best learning opportunities for all kids and to challenge them to reach their full potential.  This can only be accomplished by using innovative teaching strategies, building positive relationships, and providing quality learning environments.  The objective is for every day to be a productive learning experience for all students.

Family involvement is a vital part of student success.  You can be involved in a variety of ways in our schools and we look forward to developing strong partnerships with our families.  We all have the same goal of helping our students be successful and I want to thank you for your involvement and support in the education of your child.

Let’s begin the year with an expectation of excellence.  With great kids, a dedicated staff, wonderful families and a supportive community, I know this will be a great school year and I truly believe the sky is the limit for the Woodford County School District.

    D. Scott Hawkins

    Superintendent
